I would like to request that my portion of the ride (Santa Rosa, NM to Holbrook, AZ) be dedicated to a longtime friend who has just been diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a fibrous smooth muscle cancer.  Allen Chandler (early 60's) has been a close friend since the early 1970's.  He and his wife live in Argyle, TX.  He just announced his intentions to retire in Feb, 2012 from Atmos Energy.  He and I and our oldest sons took a 1700 mile bike ride through parts of N M, CO, AZ and UT this spring.  He is third from the left in the attached photo.  This was taken on Molas pass on US 550 southwest CO.
