Sat Sept 6 (Day 1)

Chicago to Lincoln, Illinois

We will be leaving the Navy Pier at 8:am.  I think we will probably be in two or three groups and will have a 15 minute interval between groups leaving.  We should be in Lincoln, Illinois by 5:30 pm for a great BBQ put on courtesy of the Holiday Inn Express.  I will post pictures.

What a great day, not many pictures from me but still a great day.  We pulled out of the Hotel at 7am and without a accurate account we had 40+ motorcycles.  Our trip down to the Navy Pier (28 miles) was flawless, well almost flawless.  We had to go through a toll booth and one biker miss the toll booth and will have to call in an pay his toll.  Ok that was me, oh well.

Anyway we had a nice photo op at the Pier, dedicated today's ride and had the blessing of the bike, the we started pulling out.  We were in two groups.

We stopped at the Launching Pad and was surprised by a banner being held by one of our Riders Sisters.  ( I am sorry but I don't their names)
Everybody acted like they were having a good time and enjoying the trip.

We had a short stop at Funk's Grove and several Riders bought Maple Syrup.  Others just used the Porta Potty.

Even Old Dudes from Texas bought Syrup.

We were welcomed to Lincoln, Illinois by the regional property manager, the hotel manager and the Mayor of Lincoln (Keith Snyder).  We were treated to a very good Italian dinner and we couldn't ask for any better treatment from the Staff at the Holiday Inn Express.
